I chose for the independent learning project part one to focus on design. I chose to create an office sway where I learned how to design a type of interactive presentation, sort of like Prezi. However, I enjoyed creating a sway much more because like the name, the parts flow together almost like a story line. I could see teachers using sway to create story lines for literature. I decided to make my educational topic on career paths and choices, since I am struggling with what I want to major in. High school teachers and advisers could use my sway to show a particular career path to students and create other sways for other careers. I decided to focus on communication disorders since I am thinking of becoming a speech pathologists. I thought it would be interesting because I was actually affected by a communication disorder and I luckily was able to get the treatment I needed. Since I am thinking of switching into this major, I thought it would be a good idea to create the sway to learn more about how to use a technological software unfamiliar to me and to learn more about my future career path. I loved the design element, Remix!, that changed the layout of my sway so I could see the best possible design for my sway. I thought it was really helpful. I also liked that it took key words in my cards and applied them when I was searching for pictures. It made my search super quick and easy to add pictures into my sway. My sway is educational because it can teach what a disorder is, how to treat it, and why it is important. I am very happy with my final project and as a teacher I would definitely use sway more often.
